1. Introduction

Music Player for Google Drive ("the Extension") is a Chrome extension that allows users to stream their own music files stored on Google Drive. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we access, why, and how we protect it.

2. Data We Access

The Extension requests the following Google OAuth scopes:

• drive.readonly — To read and stream your audio files from Google Drive. We never modify, delete, or write any files to your Drive.
• userinfo.email — To identify your account and sync your preferences (playlists, ratings) across devices.
• userinfo.profile — To display your name and profile picture within the Extension.

3. Data We Store

We use Supabase (hosted in the EU) to store:

• Your user profile (email, display name)
• Your playlists, playalbums, and track ratings
• Your preferences (selected folders, language)
• Audio analysis data (BPM, danceability) — computed locally and shared anonymously to benefit all users

We also cache album artwork and your music library index locally in your browser (IndexedDB) for performance. This data never leaves your device.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT access, read, or store the content of your files (documents, photos, etc.) — only audio files you choose to play
• We do NOT sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties
• We do NOT use your data for advertising or marketing purposes
• We do NOT track your browsing activity outside of the Extension

5. Third-Party Services

The Extension connects to the following third-party services solely to fetch album artwork and metadata:

• iTunes Search API (Apple)
• Deezer API
• MusicBrainz / Cover Art Archive

Only the track title and artist name are sent to these services to find matching cover art. No personal data is shared.

6. Data Security

All communications between the Extension and our servers use HTTPS encryption. Authentication is handled via Google OAuth 2.0 and Supabase Auth with Row Level Security (RLS), ensuring each user can only access their own data.

7. Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Uninstalling the Extension will remove all locally cached data from your browser.

8. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
